A Walkable Neighborhood

So you’re all pumped and ready. But where are you to go? And how will you get there? The answer in most communities is to jump in the car and race all the other vehicles to wherever it is you are going. Because there are very, very few places to which you can walk.

Village Walk is designed to give you someplace to go, with park space at each end of the neighborhood, and other planned or existing walking destinations beyond. Out the south (left) end it is a three block walk to the local elementary school. And immediately adjacent to the north end (right) is an 11 acre parcel of land set aside as a Planned Development by the City of Clemson for a commercial or mixed-use commercial/residential development. The original site design team for Village Walk is actively involved in planning a hoped for pedestrian-friendly shopping/restaurant/residential district on the property, which would be a very short walk away from every Village Walk homeowner’s front door.

And within Village Walk, even though the neighborhood is only one street wide, there will be six north/south, and five east/west walking paths for the foot-happy sojourner. A virtual wonderland for the “go one way and come back a different way” kind of walker. Or, just walk the main sidewalks down each side of Village Walk Lane for a ½ mile long sentimental journey through your neighborhood.
